Creative Solutions of Wisconsin is looking to hire a Disability Support Specialist (DSS).
A DSS assists the disability community in a wide variety of ways, including navigating various systems such as state waivers, Social Security, and Medicaid/Medicare. As a DSS, you can help turn dreams into reality with support broker/housing counseling services, customized employment services for clients eager to find community-based employment, as well as facilitating future planning with clients and their guardians. You may also provide support and oversight to a team of Direct Support Professionals providing services in our clients’ homes.
We are looking for a candidate who has experience working in the disability community but aspires to think outside the box and introduce creative solutions to the potential hurdles limiting clients’ self-determination. We pride ourselves on a team that supports each other and works together to help our clients achieve their goals. Preferred Experience: Experience working with the disability community or a close relationship to the disability community is required. Previous experience in advocacy and as a team leader or case manager preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as social or human services, special education, or psychology. Skills: Organized self-starter that has great time management skills and basic to mid-level technology skills. Multi-tasking and leadership skills are a must. Other requirements: This is a 100% remote position; Disability Support Specialists work from their homes. Driving to clients’ homes and in the community is required frequently so applicants must have access to reliable and insured transportation. Hours: Full time hours, but flexible schedule to meet your schedule and our clients’ needs. Benefits: PAID TRAINING! Health and dental benefits are available as well as a $1000 sign-on bonus contingent on completion of one year commitment to CSWI client and client families. Compensation: Entry level staff (i.e., minimal experience in the disability field) start at $42,000 with incremental pay scale available based on education and/or experience.
