Job Description
The Solution Design Manager is a high impact position within Payscales Revenue Organization. In this role you’ll work closely with our Sales teams to bring in new clients, expand relationships with existing clients, and work closely with services and support teams to ensure these new partnerships are successful. The Solution Design Manager plays a critical role in our sales and expansion discussions by designing effective solutions to achieve client goals. This position reports into the VP, Revenue Optimization.

Directly support Account Executives in solution definition and commercial options for RFP and direct to prospect/customer sales pursuits

o Conduct interviews with various stakeholders inside prospects and clients, including senior executives and operational leaders spanning several functions – HR, IT, procurement, finance, etc.

Drive the development of an internal solution, winning commercial model, and solid internal and external business case

Work collaboratively with internal groups – sales, services, finance, and product/engineering to define the appropriate solution to help the client or prospect achieve its goals
Develop a winning commercial model that effectively meets internal requirements and is structured to fit within client and prospect business needs

Work cross-functionally within Payscale to ensure new engagements are set up for success in the sales cycle

Ensure solution consistency from sales pursuit to delivery: taking ownership business requirements and commitments made in the sales cycle and ensuring commitments made are reasonable and achievable
Work collaboratively within Sales, Services, and IT organizations during sales pursuit to rationalize and confirm assumptions regarding the proposed solution and its deployment
Effectively transfer knowledge and client relationships to implementation and services teams to ensure a consistent customer experience


Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience


6+ years of experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses of business issues, either in a consulting, sales or industry environment
Demonstrated ability to discuss business issues with and present findings to senior executives both internally and externally
Very strong intrinsic problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to complete complex data analyses in Excel
Very strong communication and teamwork skills
Attention to detail, thoroughness and high level of accountability
Applicant must be self-starter who sets priorities and drives deliverables to execution with minimal supervision and team players who are resourceful
Prior experience working on or with a sales team is valuable for this role

In the spirit of pay transparency, we’re excited to share the target annual salary for this position is $145,500 as well as eligibility for a 10% company performance bonus. If you’re hired at Payscale, your final compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.
